My strategy is, first I infect all humans, without being discovered. No symptoms, I only buy everything of plane and the ship. Then, when I get the message 'There are no healthy people left'. Then, I have many DNA, and then I unlesh hell. I buy total organ failure and coma. In the most cases you win the game.
actually Total Organ Failure AND Necrosis is better, because Necrosis lets the dead body infect people instead of stopping there, and it has a pretty high lethality rate
I beat all the basic types on Brutal, so: - I tend to start in Central Africa. No transport, but there's Egypt next door to take care of that later on. - Invest in Water transmission (to fit with the climate), when spreads to Sudan or other neighboring country, Air. Infectivity-wise, Air, Water and Insect are most cost-effective. - Stay under the radar, Coughing + Sneezing is a good Infectivity combo, but you need to devolve one of those to be able to stay hidden. - As above, work towards Organ Failure + Coma. The thing is, with some diseases (FUNGUUUUS!) you need to properly time when to go all murder-y.
The hardest countries to infect are small islands and some unpopulated and rich countries like canada or greenland. Now you must know that each DNA point you spend on abilites get them more expensive.
So the trick is: save all DNA point you can and infect those hard countries in the beggining. Then kill them once they start to develop the cure, without kill too much and screw up the partially infected countries. How do you achieve it?
Start in Russia. Russia has easy communication with Canada and Greenland. It is close to China and India and Europe (tons of people to infect = tons of DNA points to act)
The BioWeapon has letality problems, it get raised with the time. So the first 1+4+7 DNA points should be for Gene Compression 1, 2, 3. This will give you the exact time you need to win.
Now you must keep and eye on dead counter. Once it start to grow up develop Deactivate modified genes 1. YOU DONT NEED UPGRADE IT TO LVL 2 WITH THIS STRATEGY. It will allow you to earn some time before you are spotted.
Russia is a cold and humid country. Your Bioweapon will be used to cold climates. And with good communicantion with Canada and Greenland you'll have them infected in no time.
So to infect the most of north hemisphere (the rich one) before being spotted develop Birds 1 and Air 1. Then, and only then, water 1. If you develop water 1 first your bioweapon will spread to fast in russia, since is a humid country, and you'll be spotted to soon, losing some valuable time.
After water 1, develop asap Birds 2. You'll have lots of infected countries. Remember: it doesnt matter if you're spotted but never ever spend points on deactivate modified genes 2 or nucleic acid neutralisation 1. In fact, NAN will screw up this strategy. You need to be letal.
Mutated Symtoms are a good thing with this strategy. Usually they give you better infect ratios. The best ones are Rash and Cougthing. If they appears leave them, unless they dont contribute to the infect ratios (like insomnia), dont devolve them.
Now you have the most of the north hemisphere infected and you have been spotted. Cure research start. Your task is: once cure research start to raise quickly (around 20-30%) kill north hemisphere without kill too much that you arent able to infect healthy people in rich and poor countries.
To do it you must increase as much as possible infect ratio, and some way of letality.
Develop Rash, Sweating. And some defence: Drug resistance 1 and genetic hardening 1. Then develop Heat 1 to help to spread easily in poor countries.
Now you must KILL: Necrosis is your best weapon. High letality for rich countries and high infecting ratio for remaining healthy ppl. Poor countries are slow to infect? In africa develop blood 1, in sudamerica develop insect 1.
Once you develop necrosis the world will focus on you, so you must develop infectius symptoms as well, and save points for reshuffles and genetic hardering 2.
This worked 4 of 4 games i played with BioWeapon, Brutal, 1.3 update.
What genetic code are you using? This could be the problem with some failing using the guide the Genetic boosts you get are important.Like I use Metabolic jump or or Hijack or the catalytic switch,Native Biome,Translesion,genetic mimic and extremophile depends on the virus which code I use but Bacteria I can pretty much use any code and win so perhaps your genetic code is what is allowing some to win and some to not.
The strategy does work. I followed it on my first try with a few minor changes and killed everyone. You have to be patient and devolve all symptoms until everyone is infected
I am having the same problem and no, Duane White, I'm NOT impatient. Your strategy is incomplete, especially since the only success stories involve changes to your "plan". Unknown, I'll have to try that. Also, if you buy all 9 leathal gene suppressors a 10th instant lethality gene becomes available.
Ok, When you first start,(I like to start in Iceland) buy the first water transmission. When you have enough DNA points, buy the first air transmission. Once again when you have enough DNA points, but the first pill one. You might have to buy the first snowflake one if Russia and Greenland won't turn red... If America and some of the other rich countries don't turn you might have to buy the second pill one, but other than those few things, try to avoid buying anything, and devolving all the symptoms until everyone is infected. Once that happens, you can sell all transmissions and the snowflake. You should have a bunch of DNA points at this point, and you should try to buy symptoms in this order if at all possible: Anaemia, Haemophilia, Internal Haemorrhaging, (then the next one after that with the zig-zag line through it) after those, buy the Insomnia one... you should have a pretty decent death rate at this point... if you have any left over DNA points, buy the Genetic Hardening ones to slow cure research. Once you start killing people fast enough, you should start getting more DNA points popping up... and also, your DNA points will fill automatically based on the rate at which people are dying. The cure meter will fill kind of fast, but don't worry, once you start gathering DNA points you can buy the Genetic ReShuffle abilities to slow down the research even further. After you buy the abilities you need, any extra DNA points can go towards symptoms... try to get as many symptoms with the zig-zag lines as possible... but mostly go for Total Organ Failure, that one really knocks 'em dead... (heh)... this should lead to the world's demise, and all you gotta do is sit back and watch =]... Good luck!
i have started in some random africa country. Ive infected whole world and i was so sure that i will going to win in my first attempt, but some 35000 loosers was still alive and i've lost the game
LoL this happened to me too. Entire world is dead except for 40k ppl in Greenland, who wont get infected even though there are 10K+ infected ppl. Really hate greenland. Either it won't die or it won't get infected. Thinking of starting from that stupid country now.
what i found to get you alot of dna points is to plant the virus in a country with a massive population, china or india for example. Once you hit that country, sit and wait. A few game days later you will start to see your dna points increase as more of the population gets infected. easy way to get up to 70 dna points and not do anything. then, in one shot you can increase the infectivity rate or resistance rate. then watch the red fireworks spread.
Start Egypt, dont mutate any symptoms beyond coughing until you are sure you can kill people. Devolve any symptoms that mutate.
Only get Air I, Air II, Water I, Water II, Extreme BioAerosol transmission. Get Cold resist I and II, Medicine Resist I. Once cure research starts, get a point or two in the one that slows down research.
Once everyone is infected, mutate straight to Organ failure from coughing, when you have the points spread to Coma then insanity.
Obviously spend points in your disease specific abilities as needed.

Step 2: First get enough DNA To Get The Following Transmissions: Concertina Locomotion, Undulatory Locomotion, Air 1, Water 1, Eggs 1, and Eggs 2.
Step 3: Get Enough DNA To Get The Following Symptoms: Neural Breach, Cerebral Tendrils, Adrenergic Constriction, Anxiolytic Infusion, Psychosis, Adoration, Devotion, and Transcendance.
Step 4: Get Enough DNA To Get The Following Transmissions: Air 2, Water 2, Air 3, Water 3, Genetic Swap, Mutative Regeneration 1, Corpse Feeder 1, Mutative Regeneration 2, and Corpse Feeder 2.

I'll tell you how to do it: develop all abilities except the unleash armageddon on the world. Don't worry on mutated symptoms. Evolve air,water 1,2,extreme bioaerosol, bird 1, wait for world to get fully infected, and evolve armageddon. Works 100% on brutal. Killed the world before cure was 1% on casual.
I have only two ribbons on Fungus. I beat it on Brutal, Normal and the easy one. My DNA sequence is at 83% yet every gene mod is unlocked....is there a bug?
All levels so far even on brutal are pretty easy so long as you infect and stay hidden the only one this tactic doesn't work on is the Nano Virus the cure for it starts right away and I can beat this on Casual and Normal but Brutal, I have not been able to beat it I need to beat this one last virus on brutal to unlock the cheat codes.I like to start in Greenland when I am playing the other viruses, it can be the hardest to complete but as long as your using the stratagey of devolving symptoms it's fine takes a little longer also use the genetic code Translesion + the cost to devolve doesn't decrease and stays at a stable 2 points refunded.If anyone has a walkthrough on how they beat Nano virus on Brutal I'd be interested I may discover a pattern today who knows I am not going to stop trying that's for sure I really want to open the cheats
With the Nano Virus, don't let the cure percentage freak you out. It raises really fast but your disease still isn't actually "noticed", as in nations start closing their borders, until it starts to become more severe. "Code fragment interception" will slow it down a bit and "radical elements stabilized" will drop your cure percentage.
A good place to start is Saudi Arabia since you can directly infect USA, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Great Britain, Iceland, Russia, Australia, China, India, Japan, Madagascar and New Zealand.
I start with level 1 air resistance, and then rash and sweating to speed it up a bit without drawing too much attention.
Then hit both of the Code fragment interceptions to slow the cure down. Water level 1, drug resistance level 1.
The cure level should be around 80% by now, hit it with radical elements. Then Genetic Hardening level 1, rodent level 1 and livestock level 1, Genetic Hardening level 2, Cold resistance level 1.
The cure should be back up to around 80%, hit it with Genetic Reshuffle, then drug resistance level 2. Once you hit this, drug immunity becomes available. Hit that, and then Cold resistance level 2. I then hit Cysts, Abscesses and hyper sensitivity to speed up infection rates without increasing severity too much, Anaemia and Insomnia to slow down research.
Cure research should be back up to around 80% again, hit it with Encryption breached.
Now it's just a matter of time for Norway, Sweden, Finland or Russia to infect Greenland. Once every nation is infected hit Replication overload, skin lesions, systematic infections, necrosis.
Then start working all of the symptoms that make your disease harder to heal. As soon as everyone's infected hit organ failure. You should have a couple more Genetic Reshuffles left to use to drop your cure percentage. When everyone's almost dead, use your last Encryption Overload to drop the cure percentage even lower.
I just beat it with 47% cure progress while walking through these steps.

You forgot about viruses. The really annoying thing about viral diseases is that they cost money to devolve and aremamreal pain to keep secret.

I have only two ribbons on Fungus. I beat it on Brutal, Normal and the easy one. My DNA sequence is at 83% yet every gene mod is unlocked....is there a bug?

ReplyDeleteAll levels so far even on brutal are pretty easy so long as you infect and stay hidden the only one this tactic doesn't work on is the Nano Virus the cure for it starts right away and I can beat this on Casual and Normal but Brutal, I have not been able to beat it I need to beat this one last virus on brutal to unlock the cheat codes.I like to start in Greenland when I am playing the other viruses, it can be the hardest to complete but as long as your using the stratagey of devolving symptoms it's fine takes a little longer also use the genetic code Translesion + the cost to devolve doesn't decrease and stays at a stable 2 points refunded.If anyone has a walkthrough on how they beat Nano virus on Brutal I'd be interested I may discover a pattern today who knows I am not going to stop trying that's for sure I really want to open the cheats
ReplyDeleteWith the Nano Virus, don't let the cure percentage freak you out. It raises really fast but your disease still isn't actually "noticed", as in nations start closing their borders, until it starts to become more severe. "Code fragment interception" will slow it down a bit and "radical elements stabilized" will drop your cure percentage.
ReplyDeleteA good place to start is Saudi Arabia since you can directly infect USA, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, Great Britain, Iceland, Russia, Australia, China, India, Japan, Madagascar and New Zealand.
I start with level 1 air resistance, and then rash and sweating to speed it up a bit without drawing too much attention.
Then hit both of the Code fragment interceptions to slow the cure down. Water level 1, drug resistance level 1.
The cure level should be around 80% by now, hit it with radical elements. Then Genetic Hardening level 1, rodent level 1 and livestock level 1, Genetic Hardening level 2, Cold resistance level 1.
The cure should be back up to around 80%, hit it with Genetic Reshuffle, then drug resistance level 2. Once you hit this, drug immunity becomes available. Hit that, and then Cold resistance level 2. I then hit Cysts, Abscesses and hyper sensitivity to speed up infection rates without increasing severity too much, Anaemia and Insomnia to slow down research.
Cure research should be back up to around 80% again, hit it with Encryption breached.
Now it's just a matter of time for Norway, Sweden, Finland or Russia to infect Greenland. Once every nation is infected hit Replication overload, skin lesions, systematic infections, necrosis.
Then start working all of the symptoms that make your disease harder to heal. As soon as everyone's infected hit organ failure. You should have a couple more Genetic Reshuffles left to use to drop your cure percentage. When everyone's almost dead, use your last Encryption Overload to drop the cure percentage even lower.
I just beat it with 47% cure progress while walking through these steps.
